Connacht Rugby are now accepting applications from those who wish to apply to become Chair of the Connacht Rugby Age Grade Competitions Committee.

Role Description and Responsibilities

Post Title: Chair of Age Grade Competitions Committee

Duration: Initial period of three years with an option to be appointed for a further term of three years based on approval by the Connacht Club & Community Rugby Committee and the terms & conditions set out by Connacht Rugby’s Governance & Nominations Committee

Role and Purpose

  • To prepare and oversee the fixtures calendar and ensure the smooth running of all Connacht Rugby Age Grade Club and Community competitions. • To deal with disputes, objections and counter-objections and the enforcement of all relevant regulations pertaining to Connacht Rugby Age Grade Club and Community competitions.
  • Prepare agendas and Chair Age Grade Competition Committee meetings.
  • Ensure minutes of meetings are prepared and circulated.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the records of the Age Grade Competition Committee
  • Prepare and present a report on the activities and decisions of the Age Grade Competition Committee to each meeting of the Club and Community Age Grade Rugby Committee.
  • To develop and foster the game for the benefit of our local communities and Connacht Rugby
  • Support the wider interests of the game within our community and Connacht Rugby

Time Requirements

  • Attendance at all Age Grade Competitions Committee meetings
  • Attendance at all Club & Community Age Grade Committee meetings, which shall meet at least 10 times per Season.
  • Attendance the Bi-Monthly Club & Community Rugby Forum meetings

Person Specification

The Chair of Connacht Rugby Age Grade Competitions Committee shall have relevant experience and demonstrate a number of the key competencies listed below:
